Amanda Sneddon
Amanda Sneddon is based in our Glenrothes office. She has been in practice as a civil solicitor for 17 years.
She spent 15 years working within a Local Authority court team before deciding that she wanted to return to private practice to use the knowledge, contacts and skills she had gained working at the Council. She was employed by another local firm as an Associate and was promoted to Senior Associate within that year before deciding to move on to Basten Sneddon to open our branch office in Glenrothes.
Prior to beginning her legal traineeship 17 years ago, she trained as a Chartered Accountant with a large insurance and investment firm in Stirling. On completion of her traineeship she began her employment working in-house with a Local Authority
Amanda provides legal representation and advice in all areas of civil law. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the particular areas of Family law, Child law, Education law, Employment law and Mental Health law having provided representation at Courts and Tribunals since the start of her legal career. She is one of only a handful of solicitors in Fife who practice in the field of Employment law. She has conducted numerous Employment Tribunals throughout Scotland during her career.
Her knowledge of the inner workings of a Local Authority is often of assistance. Amanda is also a Notary Public.
